Tiny things seen

I love these tiny little things! All of which arrived nicely packaged, and nestled under a Christmas tree this year.
What is NOT to love about sweet little blue birds?...Corey, my oldest son, gave these to me. I had to wonder if he planned it to go with the gift below! If tiny little bluebirds fly....over the rainbow..

I was all smiles when I opened this package too!
How cute can it get! One of my favorite childhood movies is, yup, you guessed it, "The Wizard of Oz" My mom gave these to me this year...I adore these little house and ruby slippers s & p shakers!!!
What a sweet little coincidence these gifts were!!!
I myself, have been in a state of flu-like slumber...dropping to take a nap at any comfy nook I might cross in the house. I feel like I truly have cobwebs in my head that I just can't shake out....not enjoying this little bug that has gotten me. At least I made it through Christmas before it appeared!

A wonderful Christmas Day

This year will go down as one my most favorite Christmas days ever. I am not usually a fan of hectic, busy holidays...but our Christmas day was busy..and I loved every minute of it.
My son Corey came home for the night on Christmas Eve.
Christmas morning was quiet, but wonderful.
I, as usual, feel spoiled.
I have a brand new bench grinder..a true surprise, from hubby! I can't wait to use it on some broken china! Also under the tree, was new Sigma 70-300mm lens..which I have quickly fallen for!...My older son (pictured above with all the facial hair!) brought me the sweetest little bluebird salt and pepper shakers...and rare Jamaican Blue coffee..yumm! Casey, my youngest son gave me a huge basket full lotion and soap!!!
Hubby then made us all delicious omlets.....and I baked some cheesy artichoke dip for later in the day.

After a while we headed out to make our holiday rounds. We stopped at my sister & brother in law's house, during which we gave one of my FAVORITE gifts that we bought this year, a pair of cowboy boots!..to Sydney..our sweet little niece..she ADORES boots..and of course we felt she needed a new pair! She was so cute..I think she went upstairs to look at them in mirror about three times in fifteen minutes.
We then headed about an hour away, to spend the rest of the day with my family at my aunt and uncle's house in Delmar. My mom is in town, from Florida, so that made the day very special. It has been years since I have been able to spend time with her on Christmas!
The sweet face above is one of my aunt, Tammy....I think she was pleasantly exhausted from food and festivities!

Here is another photo, yes..taken with the new Sigma lens, of my two favorite young men in this whole world. They were hamming it up for me, apparently!
I am so thankful for being able to spend the day yesterday with people that mean the most to me. That was my greatest gift..nothing can outshine it.

Wishing you all a special holiday season!

Rocky Mountain High!

Last Thursday hubby and I took off on an adventure to Denver, Colorado.
I had never been there, he had. His company is based out of Colorado, we went in for his company Christmas party...and for a day or so of sight seeing

It was quite a long flight! But very much worth it!
We did some shopping in downtown Denver, which is always fun..
well, maybe not always..if you ask my husband! We met a up with a co-worker of his and his co-worker's wife for our outings.
Things are quite a bit different there than at our little, failing city I seem to live in.
Things seem to be thriving there, though I know they are not as good as they have been in the past, as is for everyone...but in comparison to what I usually see, it is a huge difference.
I saw this gorgeous horse downtown. There were two horse drawn carriages going down the street at the time.

We made an attempt to drive up to Vail, but had to turn around. I took this photo about ten minutes before we headed into blizzard territory...with flashing lights telling us to chain up.
Blizzard or not, it was just beautiful. Most of photos of the snow are just white outs...so you won't be seeing them! All in all, it was a nice little get away, though I missed my doggies terribly...as usual, and was very happy to get home to them!..Now on to my Christmas rush!!!

Early to Rise

Princess Bird Necklace

Since it is apparently time to get up, as my dogs seemed to think so, (I have been up since before 4 a.m.) I thought it would also be a good time to hop on here and do a post!
Miss Tia is back to her scratching all night. She started this in the beginning of fall, it went away for a while, now it is back. She is going to be headed for an oatmeal bath when I get home later, which she will not be happy about in the least...and after which she will hide under the bed for an hour or so. It is Friday! I can't say I have had a rough week, but am happy about the weekend.

White Key Bouquet Necklace

I have two prints that are going to be an art show at Arkell Museum, the opening is tonight.
It's my third year in a row doing this show, some of their featured work is usually quite varied and interesting.
The opening is tonight at 5pm.
Also, this weekend, I am having a little get together at my humble dome home. It is a wine tasting/jewelry party/girls night in. Just a chance to chill with some friends and also show some of my jewelry.
I haven't really made too much new jewelry lately, doesn't make sense does it, as it is prime selling season! (and decorating season, which I have yet to start!) I guess you can say I am a bit on lazy side of most recent.
I did happen to put together the two necklaces pictured above. The key necklace is my favorite.
I used old vintage earrings to create the little bouquet of flowers.
Well, my day is off to a good start..chatted here, up early (not by choice though) three cups of coffee consumed and I am almost ready to roll! Have a great weekend my friends!
